Wrong information always shown by the media
Negative images is the main criteria

Whatever happened to the values of humanity
Whatever happened to the fairness and equality

Lack of understanding, leading us away from unity

Did you know that most broadcast media (television, newspapers, radio) is controlled by a small group of corporations with specific agendas, censoring the information you get on a daily basis, and more importantly, subconsciously driving and controlling the way you think and live?
Here's the good news: Today, through the power of the Internet, we can actually change mass consciousness -- we can have people be aware of these kinds of issues and concerns. This blogl is an example of just that.
See, in order to keep the masses within their control, our current media conditions individuals to be cynical, dependent, and poverty-minded in their thinking. Let me share with you an example that caused me to write so passionately about this.
I saw a Dateline NBC (a news entertainment program) episode where they called Quixtar/Amway (a multi-level/network marketing company) a SCAM and a CULT. The only non-glamorized legitimate concern mentioned in the program was that high-incomers in this business make 75% of their income through motivational products, and only 25% of their income from the products they promote through Quixtar/Amway.
Network marketing companies have promoted motivational material since the 1960's because it promotes a level of conscious thinking that has individuals break-free from media oppression. The network marketing industry popularized the personal development industry and has made it mainstream today. In fact, it was through network marketing that I got access to personal development, which transformed my life. (I was involved with Quixtar/Amway for three years, and never made more than $200 a month.)
Now, personal development has people transform their lives in many areas: intellectually, relationally, emotionally, physically, spiritually, and financially. For Dateline NBC to take the position that only the top 1% of the people make all the money (which is true for all corporate hierarchical structures), is a materialistic point-of-view. What about the 90% of people who have their lives transformed in their regular jobs, in their families, and in their communities? What is that worth? I believe it is worth the 75% of the income that network marketing gurus may make. It's funny that Dateline NBC would say these people are only money-driven, and then only look at the bottom-line (money income) as a measure of their influence in someone else's life.
The real question is, why does NBC attack not only Quixtar/Amway, but indirectly every personal development icon, including Earl Nightingale (The Strangest Secret), Napolean Hill (Think & Grow Rich), and Tony Robbins (Personal Power)? Thousands and thousands of successful people would attribute their life transformation to these people, including myself. Why do some people come on in the media and say the movie "The Secret" is harmful? Why does the media call The Landmark Forum a cult, when it positively transforms the lives of hundreds of thousands of people across the world? I'm sure 10% of the people who do the Landmark Forum may not get anything out of it. Let's compare that to the media: What percentage of people get negatively affected by the media? That number is more than 10%. More importantly, what percentage of people have their lives dramatically improved by watching the media?
You know what's out there in the media? It's full of subliminal images of violence, incest, degradation, poverty, and criminal behavior. It's a machine that gets you to buy more products in order for you to feel good, and conditions you to feel insecure and think in terms of scarcity and poverty. Of course this machine would be against anybody who tells you to live your dreams, to become financially free, and to live life consciously.
There's another machine out there. It's a growing consciousness of free-thinking humans. It's videos on YouTube like "Freedom to Fascism". It is individuals stepping-up to world governments and finally aking a stand. What will it take to REALLY make a difference? It's going to take YOU -- the individual -- right here, right now.
Start by NOT watching the news. Learning about who was robbed, raped, and murdered in your city today is only going to damage your psyche. If you want to learn about world issues, get onto Google and do some intelligent searches. If you want to be entertained with video, watch YouTube. You have more choice today, so choose your media intake wisely.
What can you do RIGHT now? First of all, I want you to be aware of the negative, impulsive, cynical thinking the media may have conditioned you to have.
What can you do RIGHT now? What about sharing this post?
What if mass consciousness can be changed through a new media like the Internet?
If you learned something from this, won't your friends learn something too?
The world is going to transcend its current level of consciousness. We have the need, we have the desire, we have the technology, and we have the choice. All we need now is faith.
There's a war out there, old friend. A world war.
And it's not about who's got the most bullets.
It's about who controls the information.
What we see and hear, how we work, what we think...
It's all about the information!
- From the Movie "Sneakers" (1992)

P.S. If our day-to-day actions don't have a larger meaning to support what we're designing in our lives, then our day-to-day actions automatically become conditioned by outside factors like the media.
The only non-glamorized legitimate concern mentioned in the program was that high-incomers in this business make 75% of their income through motivational products, and only 25% of their income from the products they promote through Quixtar/Amway. ---- Isn't this enough, since it is "the big lie", also results in most IBOs below Platinum operating at a net loss?
ReplyDeleteI was involved with Quixtar/Amway for three years, and never made more than $200 a month. ---- Gross or net?
For Dateline NBC to take the position that only the top 1% of the people make all the money (which is true for all corporate hierarchical structures), is a materialistic point-of-view. ---- WRONG. Most employees make money, most IBOs lose money.
