Sex, Drugs, CNN & You

Bookmark and Share
Hi there everyone!!

You've heard of living in the moment and the Power of Now, right?

Does it make sense to live life that way 100% of the time?

It actually wouldn't work. There are times when we want to contextualize the past, anticipate the future, and be conscious of impact that we would have on people we may or may not know.

Since many of us are used to the mainstream media glorifying everything, I will use two extreme examples to illustrate this:

A drug addict needs their next hit. Biochemical and psychological needs would have that addict avoid pain (severe withdrawal syndromes), and seek out a state of contentment and ease by getting their next fix. They are totally being present to their body, mind and spirit, and acting accordingly.

What they may be blocking, however, is the eternal awareness that their addictive behavior is degrading their health, relationships, or career. Their nature is very temporal so they do not envision any possible future regret (or are suppressing it). And most importantly, they are not present to the negative impact on those they love most.

Similarly, just the other night, Judge Judy on Larry King Live talked about how, despite all the therapies and rehabilitations, there are some pedophiles whose behaviors can't be changed. She said that it is just who they are, and since that way of being is inappropriate for common society, they need to be physically separated from society. They can't control themselves; they are just living in the moment and acting on their primal genetic impulses. (Again, they are not considering their past actions/effects, all future consequences, or the residual impact on others.)

I totally admire Judge Judy's intelligence, wisdom, and maturity. I agree with what she said, but I am surprised that she doesn't go deeper into the cause that's making these pedophiles behave the way they do, besides dismissing it to pure genetics.

Consider that part of the cause for this inappropriate behavior may be due to the emergence of inappropriate sexuality in our news, advertising, fashion, and entertainment industries. Some marketers use subliminal images of incest, violence, and adultery, to trigger the psyche into alert-mode so they can get their message (solution) across.

Nevertheless, pedophiles are completely in their world, living in the moment, not conscious of any of their conditioning or potential societal impact. And, the drug addict is, equally in their world, aligned with their reality -- simply making their life work in that moment.

But here's the funny thing. It's not just addicts and pedophiles who live completely in their own world... It's you, me, and everybody else.

When I tell an average person that I have a blueprint to eliminate world poverty, even if they say they are interested, they will likely not put any effort towards its manifestation. Why? Because they are in their own world -- they are totally consumed managing their own money, health, relationships, daily challenges, and life adversities. They exist in a paradigm that works for them in the moment, just like the addict and the pedophile.

That may sound harsh, so let me connect the dots.

When you know that 20,000 children died today because of lack of clean water or food (really due to obsolete political/economic constructs), it may be saddening. When you know that you are in the top 1% of the world's population of health, security, and prosperity, you may feel very blessed...

But when you are presented with a valid solution to transform our humanity into a transcended peaceful community, don't you feel a humanitarian calling to get out of your present, relatively comfortable life, and compassionately co-create a world that works for everyone, not just for you?

Just like we need to love the addict, and protect society from the pedophile, I'm here to say that there's a consciousness much outside of your current reality that has to do with humanity. You could have been one of those 20,000 children that died today. Exercise the power of now to get present to that.

You don't need a penny to make a difference today. Technology and the Internet have created new mediums which we can now leverage.

If you're with me this far, take it one simple step further. When you share this page with others, and they do the same, and we get 1,000,000 people to read this (very possible), then we will be on prime-time CNN.

And then the world will look completely different, and very inspiring.

It doesn't take money anymore to get mass exposure. What it does take is a collective consciousness of individuals committed to a common purpose. Are you a part of this awakening?

What will you do now?

Let's love the world together...

Love,
