Hi there everyone!!

I was gifted an iPhone 4 just a couple days ago -- I should have one, considering the Ordinary App for the iPhone is coming out any day now. Anyways, I ended up validating one of my own little conspiracy theories.

Have you ever noticed how so many personalized voice mail messages end with a generic woman’s voice saying something like, “At the tone, please record your message. When you have finished recording, you may hang-up or press pound for more options?” It is redundant based on what most people would already have included in their personal message... And it takes up nine seconds of unnecessary airtime!

OK, so there must be something in the administrative options to remove this brilliant “feature”, right? There isn’t. And nine seconds may not sound like a lot, but multiply that by millions of customers who pay for airtime -- and who wouldn’t take the time to turn this “feature” off even if their service provider allowed them to.

We are living in a Twilight Zone where so many things are backwards. Like Michael Ellner said, “Just look at us. Everything is backwards; everything is upside down. Doctors destroy health, lawyers destroy justice, universities destroy knowledge, governments destroy freedom, the major media destroy information and religions destroy spirituality."

But I have some very simple solutions.

CONTRACTS

We know that most people (99.9%) don’t read the legal contracts of their service providers (credit cards, mortgages, insurance, etc.). It’s impractical, with fine print, legalese trickery, and literally hundreds of pages that sometimes get revised without notice. What does it mean when we check a box or initial a paragraph claiming that we have read something, when everybody knows that nobody does?

My Solution:

All contracts that are not written within one page in twelve point font are considered illegal and void. If we are to live in a society where we apply the spirit of the law more than crazy loop-holes, than all can usually be said in one page that most people would read and understand.

MAINSTREAM MEDIA

Why do we watch people who read their speeches? The art of writing and speaking are completely different, and reading something prepared and hand-crafted is completely inauthentic. If people cannot speak from their heart and be real, how can we expect them to lead society?

My Solution:

There is a place for memorized deliveries in entertainment and the performing arts. For information about our world and transforming humanity (the news and politics), let’s only listen to people who do not need a teleprompter. This is why alternative media is eclipsing mainstream media to the point where alternative is the new mainstream.

Some might say, “well, that’s all easier said than done.” Everything is easier said than done. What’s awesome is that in our interconnected global community, we actually don’t need to take that much action to get something done: all that is required is sharing a solution (or two) with others, and shifting the collective consciousness.

Over 10 Years in the Making...

Hi there everyone,

In 1996 I knew I wanted to be a professional speaker. I joined Toastmasters and did monthly excursions to various personal development programs around the world.

It wasn’t until 1999 when I heard Mark Victor Hansen on a tape say that people don’t hire speakers, they hire experts -- and the best way to establish myself as an expert was to write a book.

I wrote A Dictionary of Distinctions in 2000, and it was published in 2001. The next couple of years were spent speaking, marketing, and promoting the book, as I wrote Volume II.

Understanding that continually creating content was the key to long-term success, I never stopped writing. Every couple of weeks, I would create something unique and timely for my growing list of newsletter subscribers.

Some of those articles became popular on major personal development web sites and local television media, like “Summer Resolutions”, “3 Steps to the Art of Conversation”, and “Who Are You?”

From 2004-2006, I co-produced a Broadway-style musical, while I still continued to write authentic articles about my life experiences.

In 2007 I decided to move out on my own, hosting parties, and enjoying life. Still, I continued to write every week about my life challenges and transformations.

Then I produced full-day live events, teleseminars, a concert, worked on a feature-length movie, and even created my own brand of “wellness parties”. Many life experiences became a nugget of insight and inspiration that I would write down.

At the height of living my dreams, in 2008 I was expanding a humanitarian organization that would raise over a million dollars for charities around the world. With a broader world outlook, I began authoring articles about humanity, spirituality, and creating a world that works for everyone.

In 2009, I started collecting the best videos about awakening the planet. And by 2011, I was able to build a solid residual income for Ordinary Words, and reap the benefits of my work over the last ten years.

Now, I have compiled all my writings and best videos over the last years into a convenient app for you!

Thirteen Freedoms

Hey there everyone!!

There are so many different kinds of freedoms that we may enjoy. Becoming conscious and distinguishing between the various freedoms can allow us to more completely exercise each freedom, and appreciate them all more thoroughly.

I read once that those who can read and choose not to, are no better off than those who are illiterate. Exercise your freedoms. Here are my 12 distinctions (and a bonus!):

1. Freedom of Religion

I was born Muslim in Pakistan where 97% of the population is Muslim. Had I not immigrated to Canada, I would not have been exposed to so many other spiritual paths or new age understandings. When I visited Saudi Arabia for Umrah, I realized how significantly different daily life can be when a culture is dominated by one religious following.

2. Political Freedom

There is a wide spectrum of control that various governments exercise on their citizens. While some countries have obvious rigged elections, other countries boast about their democratic process. It is a great freedom to be able to, for example, create a new political party to initiate change. However, when mainstream media blatantly ignores all fringe parties, is there really political freedom?

3. Freedom of Speech

Listening to gangster rap music as a teenager, I totally appreciated freedom of speech so that I could receive alternative perspectives. Self-expression -- especially in the context of art, education and humanity -- is a tremendous virtue a society can employ. But when we create free speech “zones”, we create a contradiction in terms, and manipulate the masses to be controlled in what they are able to say and who they are able to be.

4. Freedom of Assembly

From club meetings to live shows to amazing parties – I’ve certainly taken advantage of my freedom of assembly. When the G20 happened in Toronto, however, I made sure I was as far away as possible. Aware of the continued police corruption to use sound cannons and rubber bullets on innocent protesters, I knew I could support the awakening in other ways. There is no freedom of peaceful assembly when citizens are scared of their very own police and military who should be protecting them.

5. Freedom of Choice

Ah, the freedom talked about most in personal development programs! At any moment, we can choose how to perceive/interpret our circumstance, and/or consciously shift our behavior. Lack of the other freedoms, however, may constrain or confine our ability to see choice.

6. Freedom of Mobility

I read about this in grade twelve law class when we were studying the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. It wasn’t until recently that I realized how significant this could be for some people. By changing our neighborhood or our geography, we can significantly alter the freedoms from the other categories. Sometimes career choices limit our mobility because their skill/knowledge is localized (e.g., lawyers, real-estate agents).

7. Career Freedom

Historically, most people always had the same job. That’s where some surnames come from (Miller, Smith, Hunter, Weaver, Butcher, Tailor, etc.). Today, some of us can not only enjoy the freedom of choosing our career, we can choose several (simultaneously or contiguously)!

8. Financial Freedom

This is a freedom most people had until the industrial revolution where much of the population was indoctrinated into having jobs, and seeing commissions/sales as risky. On the contrary, being entrepreneurial, selling, and earning based on our direct efforts, is one of the most satisfying freedoms there is. It’s not opulent wealth, but an understanding of having passive income exceed lifestyle expenses. When this occurs, true time freedom is possible.

9. Time Freedom

When the previous freedoms are handled, we can then be a true creator of anything we want in this reality. We do things we may never have otherwise done. We explore, we learn, we grow. The irony, however, is that too much time freedom can create boredom. This has happened to me on occasion, and it can cause people to do really crazy things simply for the sake of entertainment value.

10. Emotional Freedom

We can become a master creator, but not master our own emotions. Anthony Robbins teaches that life is the science of achievement and the art of fulfillment. If we feel a disempowering emotion, could we let it go? Being free from grudges, regrets, attachments, and suffering, can create the most freeing life of all.

11. Temporal Freedom

What is now will not always be. Understand that things do not need to be permanent in order for us to get value from them. For example, do not hold or expect any relationship to be eternal. This too shall pass. See situations and circumstances as temporary. Sometimes analyzing dreams or doing past-life regression allows us to cultivate this temporal freedom.

12. Universal Freedom

While I have not experienced this myself, I know it is available to me. It is an experience of meditation that transcends time-space. It is the ability to astral travel or cross-through parallel universes. It is the freedom our collective consciousness is currently activating in order to transform the challenges of our time and journey into the golden age.

This movement isn't about the 99% defeating or toppling the 1%. You know the next chapter of that story, which is that the 99% create a new 1%. That's not what it's about.

What we want to create is the more beautiful world our hearts tell us is possible. A sacred world. A world that works for everybody. A world that is healing. A world of peace.

You can't just say "We demand a world of peace. Demands have to be specific. Anything that people can articulate can only be articulated within the language of the current political discourse. And that entire political discourse is already too small. And that's why making explicit demands reduces the movement, and takes the heart out of it. So it's a real paradox, and I think the movement understands that.

The system isn't working for the 1% either. You know if you were a CEO, you would be making the same choices they do. The institutions have their own logic. Life is pretty bleak at the top too - and all the baubles of the rich are this phoney compensation for the loss of what's really important. The loss of community, the loss of connection, the loss of intimacy. The loss of meaning.

Everybody wants to live a life of meaning. And today, we live in a money economy where we don't really depend on the gifts of anybody. But we buy everything. Therefore we don't really need anybody, because whoever grew my food, or made my clothes, or built by house, well if they die, or if I alienate them, or if they don't like me, that's okay because I can just pay someone else to do it.

And it's really hard to create community if the underlying knowledge is "we don't need each other." So people kind of get together and act nice, or maybe they consume together. But joint consumption doesn't create intimacy. Only joint creativity and gifts create intimacy and connection.

You have such gifts, that are important. Just as every species has an important gift to give to an ecosystem, and the extinction of any species hurts everybody. The same is true of each person, that you have a necessary and important gift to give.

And that for a long time our minds have told us that maybe we're crazy, that maybe we're imagining things, that's its crazy to live according to what you want to give. But I think now, as more and more people wake up to the truth, that we're here to give, and wake up to that desire, and wake up to the fact that other way isn't working anyway - the more reinforcement we have from people around us that this isn't crazy. This is makes sense. This is how to live.

And as we get that reinforcement, then our minds and our logic no longer have to fight against the logic of the heart which wants us to be of service. This shift of consciousness that inspires such things is universal, 99% and the 1% and it's awakening in different people in different ways.

I think love is the felt experience of connection to another being. An economist says 'more for you is less for me.' But the lover knows that more of you is more for me too. If you love somebody their happiness is your happiness. Their pain is your pain. Your sense of self expands to include other beings.

That's love, love is the expansion of the self to include the other. And that's a different kind of revolution. There's no one to fight. There's no evil to fight. There's no other in this revolution.

Everybody has a unique calling and it's really time to listen to that. That's what the future is going to be. It's time to get ready for it, and contribute to it, and help make it happen.

A year before “The Secret” was released, I envisioned a whole slew of inspiring films about human potential would be released. I even registered the domain, http://www.InspirationalEntertainment.com!

Soon other inspiring movies started to flow consistently, like What The Bleep, Conversations with God, and Spiritual Liberation.

Then I noticed an increase in the popularity of movies about the New World Order. While not talked about in the mainstream media, these movies like the Zeitgeist series, Money as Debt, and the Obama Deception have broken international records.

My prediction was that these two seemingly opposite genres (positive thinking/personal development vs. end-game scenarios/global corruption), would soon merge into one new genre of “awakening films”.

Over two years ago, I started collecting the best short videos and feature-length movies that most closely resembled my vision, and created a multi-media portal at http://transforminghumanity.blogspot.com.

I compiled a comprehensive list of organizations and solutions that were committed to transforming our world at http://truthactivism.blogspot.com.

While I’m very proud of both these web sites, they didn’t really “viral” out to many people.

But, my vision did get realized.

I paid for and finished watching the entire THRIVE feature-length movie on the weekend, and it is the best feature-length movie I have ever seen, completely aligned with my vision.

Their web site contains a comprehensive list of solutions, with links and resources, so we can all work together, making the world work for everyone.

In high-school I delivered a Remembrance Day speech that explained how our generation could not “remember”, and perhaps we could instead “acknowledge” what happened in order to better value our current day freedoms.

While acknowledging is important, today I feel that we have shifted far beyond reinforcing this old-school paradigm of global violence.

It’s 11/11/11, and now we have the opportunity to authentically live a life of conscious co-creation -- where we collaborate with each other -- instead of adhering to institutional authorities and government propaganda.

It’s time to get back to the basics, and truly be with one another.

My Suicide Note

Hey there everyone,

These dark moments have come many times throughout my life. Something seems to take over and the logic becomes irrefutable. I think...

a. I’ve already had a very accomplished life with such diverse experiences (even beyond the scope of what I share publically),

b. I’ve positively contributed to my friends/community/world, and

c. I will have left books, movies, interviews, and numerous web sites, for people to use over generations.

Of course, all the usual concerns come up that would come up for most people before they finally pull the plug...

1. How will my family and friends be affected by this?

Society deals with death all the time. One of my dearest friends committed suicide last month. Life goes on in the matrix.

2. What about those who would be left holding my debt and obligations?

If we say money is such a lower priority in terms of overall health and wellness, then why even bother thinking about this? My investors have all chosen freely and knew they had risk. The matrix has provisions for these circumstances, although I do feel more than financially obligated.

3. Is this really the calling of my spirit?

Why would my spirit ever have me or want me to feel this way in the first place? What is an existence where we wish not to exist? Isn’t that the ultimate hell?

It’s challenging to explain what this is like. Everything is all perspective and relative, but at times like these, these are the three paradigms I feel:

Depression. Things seem to lack meaning and significance. Is it a chemical imbalance when there’s just no interest or desire in so many of the activities or possibilities I have at my disposal?

Loneliness. Some would think that with such a broad network, there would always be many interesting choices at any time for me. But with not being able to naturally relate to so many people, loneliness prevails. Many people recognize me, but many times, I am unable to recognize some of my family and friends.

Boredom. I’ve always been challenged by not knowing what do with my time -- especially without visual stimulation to appreciate nature, or do people-watching for example. Ironically, now that I’ve achieved a certain level of financial stability, I don’t know what to do with my time. I’m engaged in tons of business ventures where I am waiting for other people/growth, and the would-be-interesting-and-fun new activities, all cost more money.

So I spend my time telling you all of this. You can count on me to be transparent. So, what do you think? Should I do it?

Some say that after an artist dies, their works are far more appreciated, valued, and shared throughout the planet. So this letter will be a lot more viral if I’m actually going to do it...

But life isn’t about leaving a legacy. It’s about discovering a new possibility in each moment. I love transforming my difficult moments into small injections of inspiration into your life.

There’s always a new day, a new perspective, and new potential. These are the things we can be focused on.

Do you Understand the 99%? #Occupy

Hello 99%ers!!

People see me walking independently (not hitting a thing) and find it difficult to understand how I can do that if I’m basically blind.

I’m successful 99% of the time (not hitting things/people) because I use my intelligence, my instincts, my intuition, and my memory. In certain cases, I’m simply lucky because I’m guessing and going on faith.

But what does that 99% that I “see” really mean? Many people need to simply things and so are conditioned to think in polarities – either black or white, up or down, blind or sighted. So naturally, many people feel I’m just as functional as anybody else, because I am “99%” functional.

That 1%, however, means a completely different way of being, mindset, and lifestyle. It means inconveniences and missed opportunities that are unconscionable to the average person. Understanding that 1% makes all the difference in the world.

Similarly, when I had been showing friends how the Internet is being censored, they would laugh and call it a conspiracy theory -- because they did not understand what it means to censors something incrementally, starting at 1%.

Do you think censorship would start at 100%? That would create too much opposition. But what if web sites that were “censored” worked 99 times out of a hundred? Then everybody would think that the web site is still working. Would that really make a difference in the grand scheme of things?

Yes. That 1% makes all the difference in the world (particularly when we understand “viral lift” and the exponential growth of information through social sharing). And until we acknowledge what/who that 1% really is, we will not understand what it is we are opposing.

The 1%ers aren’t the millionaires and business owners in our society. Millionaires and business owners are usually good people who contribute positively to our communities. Really, the 1%ers are the people who control media for propaganda, use politicians to manipulate laws, hide under corporations to obscure liability, and leverage investment instruments for fraud.

It’s important to try to look at the big picture as much as possible.

It’s easy to think that I’m completely sighted when people first see me. But after spending a couple of hours with me, they usually figure out I’m not faking it.

It’s easy to see the Internet as a “free” system where most of our searches still generate interesting, and seemingly relevant results. But when Facebook starts giving the wrong information about OUR posts -- that’s when we might stop and think for a minute.

And it’s easy to blame people who have more “wealth” than us, and believe they are the 1% we are opposing. But the real 1% are using classical warfare to get two enemies fighting with each other (funding both sides), as they sit back in their offshore mansions, laughing at the protesters who are getting tear-gassed by police who don’t know any better.

It seems that the 1% may be the “extreme” of our current reality. But truly, the 1% is: what we don’t know we don’t know -- that which is outside of our current reality.

It’s outside of most people’s current reality that a blind person can be more functional than most sighted people.

It’s outside of most people’s current reality that censoring a small percentage of traffic to a particular web site would affect mass consciousness.

And, it’s outside of most people’s current reality that the 1% are not the successful business people and politicians that we see – but rather that these people are merely puppets and just as much as slaves to the system as we are.

The awakening is therefore internal... becoming conscious of a greater spectrum -- knowing that the 1% we once hated, is actually part of the 99% that we are... and understanding the true 1%, is learning to uncover what we don’t know about what we don’t yet know.

Hey You...

I know what it's like... I had times when I wasn't happy doing anything that I did. I did some great things, but I was never happy. All I knew is that I wanted to feel better, and whatever I did to try and feel better, didn't work. I felt horrible. Even though others thought I looked good, I felt horrible. I wanted to cry. I cried often. I cried so much that I couldn't cry anymore. I yelled out loud wanting to cry, and I couldn't even cry. And that made me feel even worse.

I know what it's like... Everyone was telling me that I should be happy, that I would be happy, or that I could be happy. Still, nothing was making me happy. My thoughts took me to unhappy places. I didn't want to think anymore. I was tired of analyzing everything and trying to figure things out. I didn't want to think at all. I wished the thoughts would stop.

I know what it's like... I was doing everything I could do. I was making it happen. I was being out there. I was going above and beyond what some people even thought possible. I felt like I was doing everything. Because I wanted to change, I really wanted to be happy. What more could I possibly do? I didn't get it! Was it going to be worth all this crap I was living through? Back then, I just wanted to die.

I know what it's like, and it totally doesn't work.

Every time I meet a new person, they are a gift. The fact that you are with me, at this point in the article, is a testament to our connection. I can't change what it's like for you, but I can tell you that I love you.

I love you because, despite the pain, you continue to push... Despite the confusion, you continue to search... And despite the results, you continue to believe.

I love you because you express your feelings, because you share your soul, and because you contribute to others.

I love you because dreams are within you, faith is beside you, and spirit is all around you.

I know what it's like, and I know who you are. You are more than what you think you are. You are more than whatever it is you are feeling at any moment. You are more than whatever it is you are going through at any moment. You are a miracle.

I know what it's like, and I know you'll get through it.

My Politically-Incorrect Background

The Straight Talk

I believe it’s important to mention that I’ve always been pushing against the conventional system ever since I was in elementary school. In fact, my internal motto was, "The whole system is !*#@, everyone knows it's !*#@, and nobody will do !*#@ about it!! So why should I !*#@ myself over it?"

As you may tell, I have significantly changed. And now so too can the system.

Rather than focus on promises, I'll share with you what I have already done. These are the values I believe we would want in someone to represent us and lead our province/country.

Overcoming Adversity:
The ability to deal with whatever happens.

My school didn't allow me to touch computers because I wouldn't be able to "see them". But, I did get my hands on them in grade six. I took grade twelve computers when I was in grade eight, I was the first person in the Toronto Board of Education to take co-operative education in grade nine, and I taught computer science classes when I was a teenager.

I lobbied and was granted funding for a new club in my high-school, called DECA (a network of business clubs across North America), which still exists today. I ran for student council treasurer, was the vice-president of the debating society, and organized and won awards during inter-school tournaments.

Working Outside the Box:
Knowing that anything is possible.

I attended the Central Ontario Regional Parliament in 1992 and later was elected Leader of the Opposition. I also attended several other regional youth parliaments including Ontario Model Parliament, and became the Opposition Minister of Finance for the Ontario Youth Parliament (which I now serve on the Board of Directors). I flew to Vancouver for the Western Canadian Youth Parliament, and also participated in the British Columbia Youth Parliament as an ambassador the subsequent year.

The Forum for Young Canadians was an amazing week workshop in Ottawa, Ontario, where I spent time with real members of parliament. I was invited to Washington, D.C., for the equivalent program called Presidential Classroom. The year after I attended the Future World Leader’s Summit, and then was invited to the Inauguration of then U.S. President, Bill Clinton.

In Budapest, Hungary, I attended the Harvard World Model United Nations. I have been an active Toastmaster, an Area Governor, and was a speaker at the Toastmasters International Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. I've done youth exchange programs in Trois-Pistoles (Québec), Jõhvi (Estonia), Adelaide (Australia), and Paris (France). I've also travelled to Cuba and did Umrah in Saudi Arabia.

Diversity of Experience:
Being able to relate with all people on all levels.

I've taken piano lessons, singing lessons, jazz dancing, ballroom dancing, improv, white-water rafting, rock-climbing, hand-gliding, sky-diving, nia, yoga, jiu-jitsu, and have participated in literally hundreds of personal development programs. I've interviewed stars from the hit movie, "The Secret", including Bob Proctor, James Arthur Ray, and Chicken Soup for the Canadian/Parent's Soul, co-author Raymond Aaron.

I've volunteered in mentorship/leadership roles for Youth In Motion, Youth Assisting Youth, Junior Achievement, Youth Leadership Camps Canada, and the Canadian National Institution for the Blind.

Results:
Following through on projects, promises, and passions.

In 2000, my best friend and I acquired $1.5 million in venture capital for our technology platform. In 2003, I published a self-help book that became a Canadian best-seller, got translated into Mandarin and scored me a tour in China. During 2005 and 2006, I co-produced a Broadway-style musical called “I DECIDE” with an after-party that ran every Saturday night! I worked with Stuart Knight, who created an entertaining show for high-school students that toured across Canada for several years called "A Whole New Perspective".

Compassion:
Understanding the purpose of our humanity.

In 2007, my friend (with decades of experience in the Green Party) and I decided to create The Party for People with Special Needs and ran in the provincial elections (just to run, without any effort, campaigning, marketing, etc.). Much to our surprise, we had more votes (in the ridings we ran) than some of the other parties. And even though we were not elected, we still helped families with disabilities receive over $2.4 Million!

This gave us great hope that people like you resonate with our message and are committed to transforming the world. This year, you can help.

Last couple of years I've spent building the Canadian arm of an organization called Humanity Unites Brilliance, where we collectively raised over a million dollars for charities around the world. That company got acquired by World Ventures Inc., and then I spent my time creating a residual income through a telecommunications network marketing organization that does more than half a million dollars a month in sales volume.

My first night... with a Mac?

Hey there curious onlookers!!

I finally did it. I didn’t want to do it. But this is what it takes to be a top performer in the mobile space.

It all looked good on the surface. Everything was beautiful and slick. I even saw a sign in the box that said “You and your Mac were meant for each other.”

I unpacked and started to put the right things in the right places. You know, it was so much more difficult for me as a teenager with bigger wires, clunky connections, and all sorts of compatibility issues.

It brought back memories of when I was in high-school experimenting and learning from new equipment. Although I couldn’t visually see what I was doing, I could follow the right paths with my fingers and usually work it all through. Today, everything is supposed to be intuitive, that I thought the first night would have been a breeze.

Well, it wasn’t as good as they say it is.

Sure, I was teased with certain bells and whistles, promises and waivers, but alas, it was not to be.

First off, “Universal Access” or “Accessibility Standards” may sound like a compassionate consideration for most. But when it doesn’t work, it’s really not funny. Just putting an artificial stamp of approval doesn’t make something functional.

I thought my last relationship with Windows was bad for stuff like that. But this is much worst. Yes, these features get better over the years, and it does take time to nourish and understand the complexities of working with such features.

But what am I to do? Stop nourishing a relationship with an operating system because it doesn’t appear to be a perfect match for me?

No, I have a commitment to make great iPhone applications. You know it doesn’t take much to make one, besides a $99 annual fee, a Macintosh computer, and a little bit of time. But most people who want to never will, because they will let all sorts of things get in their way.

Not me. I write about it instead, and give you this reality-based journey of overcoming adversity, transformational living, and fulfilling one’s destiny.

Now I need to go read the 50-page agreement from Apple to see what I got myself into!

Leveraging the iPhone Opportunity

Hi there everyone!!

I’ve been on webinars this week by the biggest gurus in the industry talking about the huge money that can be made with iPhone applications, and it’s pretty awesome.

I’ve accurately predicted many trends in technology, and with my new found understanding of marketing, I now see a financial windfall that is so easy for each and every person to leverage.

The iPhone Store is a closed network, and the rich get richer because they understand how the system works. That’s why there are ridiculous applications without any value that make tons of money and great applications that go nowhere (of course, that’s true generally speaking).

So, what’s the secret here? We’ve got to have a great way to get into the Apple Store (which, btw, is the biggest holder of credit cards in the world). Companies are being bought for hundreds of millions of dollars that already have iPhone applications prominent in the Apple Store. But you’re not a programmer, nor are you able to make such a huge investment.

There are courses out there that will teach you how to simply copy iPhone applications that are already successful. The industry is young enough (not saturated) that you will make tons of money, and can outsource the programming for just hundreds of dollars. Those courses are awesome, though they will cost you thousands of dollars.

But rather than making a new iPhone application, why not leverage off the launch of a brand new iPhone application that you know will be HUGE?

That Free Thing already has over a hundred thousand members, and when it officially launches on October 1, it will release its iPhone application to the world.

Can you imagine the traffic we will get when 100,000 people download that application almost overnight? What will happen to our rankings in the Apple Store?

...And the Art of Being an Honorable FreeLoader

1. Get clear.

It doesn’t work to just want “everything” for free. The more specific and precise we are about what we want for free, the more powerful our brain becomes by generating ideas and methods of obtaining that something for free.

Example: I like to party, so instead of just wishing for an abundance of money to spend on partying, I focus on getting free tickets to tons of cool events. More than that, now I get the VIP treatment at most places, feeling more abundant than having financial abundance.

2. Chunk it down.

Sometimes the way to get want we want for free is through stages. It may not be free for us immediately, but working towards a path that gets us that free thing can be extremely rewarding.

Example: Lots of people wish that they didn’t have to make a rent or mortgage payment for the place where they live. Maybe it’s not possible to get that for free today, but what about the possibility of sub-letting, or hosting youth exchange students, as a great way to subsidize our costs?

3. Check your community.

Our biggest resource is through the network of people that we know. Chances are there are people within our network that either already have what we want (used and willing to give it away), or know how we can get it.

Example: Furniture, appliances, books, audio programs, DVDs/movies, and admission to shows/events are popular examples of things that people in our community have, and would be more than happy to give away. I’ve saved tens of thousands of dollars on personal development programs through this method.

4. Google it.

It never hearts to Google what we would like for free. Don’t just try one term, but many variations, especially based on varying geography. What may be expensive in one city could be free in another part of the world.

Example: Companies may not give a physical product for free, but offer the digital copy at no cost. We could locate our favorite song/music, find our favorite book in audio format, or maybe the first couple of chapters of the book we want as a PDF, before we decide to spend money on it.

5. Uncover special promotions.

Sometimes waiting is the name of the game. Unseasonable times, off-peak hours, or excess inventory, are great opportunities to solicit our freebies. Certain promotions are based on volume, so we can recruit some friends, and get a group discount for everyone else (in addition to our freebie)!

Example: GroupOn, Living Social, and TeamBuy are all great web sites that show us great deals every day. By organizing small groups, our financial portion could be easily taken care of.

6. Explore the competition.

We may have an affinity towards a particular brand, but would settle for the same product/service from the competition -- if it were free! Sometimes the competition uses exactly this ploy to acquire new customers, and we can benefit from that!

Example: And maybe the competition isn’t really the competition. For instance, A.C.N. subcontracts essential home services from brands we know and trust, and offers us the possibility of getting our essential home services (telephone, Internet, wireless, energy, television, security, computer support) for free!

7. Find an equivalent.

We may think we want a particular product, when we’re really looking for a particular functionality. Software, applications, and services are great examples of things we may be paying for now, that we could probably find for free elsewhere.

Example: Microsoft Office costs money, but we get all the equivalent functionality from Star Office, for free! Look for open source and public domain products/services that you want for free.

8. Ask.

It can be that simple. Especially if we have a relationship with the merchant we’re asking, or have at least seen or done business with that company over a period of time, a freebie is more probably than we think.

Example: It’s not as simple as “Can I get that for free?” because there’s a science to making an authentic request. Read this article that outlines the three components of a request that is likely to get fulfilled: The 3 C's of Asking -- Make your requests Clear, Concise, and Compelling.

9. Negotiate.

Some people may feel negotiating doesn’t necessarily make something free... Don’t just think monetarily. We can negotiate by offering our products/services in exchange (bartering), offering a testimonial/promotion to our community, or committing to a future order.

Example: When hosting events, I always find venues that forgo all rental fees because I am able to drive a significant amount of traffic through our community into their establishment.

10. Put out feelers.

Our community is great, but social networking actually allows us to get to our communities’ communities. That is, people who we don’t know directly, but can know through a common person. This provides a conduit of trust through association where it is much easier to establish rapport and develop a nourishing relationship than with strangers/cold-calling.

Example: I know lots of friends who have posted their wish for something free on Facebook or Twitter, and got what they were looking from someone they didn’t know. Someone even got money for their cat that needed emergency medical attention.

11. Search government programs.

There are lots of government grants and scholarships that we may be eligible for, as a citizen and as an entrepreneur. There are so many programs, that we should not discount any possibility or criteria that we may fall into. Investigate programs based on social/economic or minority status, as well as youth programs, those specific for woman, for the disabled, or those specific for aboriginals.

Example: As a member of the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, I get great parks like free transit and admission to galleries/attractions. While many people may qualify, not everyone who qualifies knows about such services. Chris Johnson runs an amazing programs called Free Money University where he specifically shows you how to find and get accepted into these kinds of grants. 12. Browse charities, service organizations, and non-profits.

Sometimes these groups can have excess stock, or be willing to give us access to their resources if our work is consistent with their mission. These groups usually have people with great hearts who love to give, so as long as we can provide value to them, they will provide value to us.

Example: Because I love to travel, I found lots of youth and community development programs that allowed me to travel in exchange for my volunteering. There are literally thousands of groups like this...

13. Engage Churches and other local groups.

When people know you, they want to help you. Far more important than free stuff, is compassionate people willing to offer you advice, guidance, and resources to get anything you want. Today, there are lots of spiritual communities, new age clubs, and intentional families that offer similar value.

Example: Whenever I travel, I call networking groups in the city I’m visiting and offer to be a speaker and/or an out-of-town guest. They are usually excited to have me. What do I get out of it? Access to new people in a different market... and I have the ability to network with them in an intimate and trusted space.

14. Become a member of free services.

There are lots of new and innovative services on the Internet that offer tremendous value at no cost. Based on the product/service you want, think of organizations or services that may write reviews for that product/service, or offer free samples of the products/services you are looking for.

Example: Listia.com is an auctioning platform like e-Bay, except instead of using money, we get credits based on the free stuff we provide to others. Freecyle.org is a grassroots moment of people who are giving and getting stuff for free in their own towns. There are lots of free ad services like Kijiji and SwapCity.

15. Upgrade in That Free Thing.

That Free Thing grants us access to a web portal full of thousands of freebies -- with new freebies added every day. Instead of doing all the work above, allow a company to do all the work for us, and pool together the best free stuff into one place. Plus, there are Smart Phone applications (iPhone, Android, Blackberry) which give us instant notifications of freebies under our nose as we walk or travel!

Example: People have received everything from Dairy Queen ice cream to prescription eyeglasses worth hundreds of dollars. More interestingly, there’s a way to make money by sharing these freebies. Being partially sighted, the most common question I get asked is “What can you see?” It’s very difficult to explain what I can see if I don’t know what others see. Pay It Forward
How do we change the world? I got exposed to network marketing and realized that was an ingenious way to transform lives all over the world. I knew it was the business model of the future the first time I saw it at age eighteen. But how would we get this idea accepted by the masses? Entertainment, of course. I call it inspirational entertainment, and this movie embodies exactly that.

The Obama Deception
I was aware of institutional corruption and the New World Order agenda when I was very young (without the labels, of course). The personal development industry had taught me to focus on the things I could change, and so I compartmentalized my intelligence. Once I saw The Obama Deception on YouTube, however, I knew the era had come where technology would allow the awakening to reach the masses. This is the most viral wake-up call that Google and YouTube have been desperately censoring.

Hey there everyone!!

It’s Pride Weekend here in Toronto (and Canada Day, too), so I thought I would give you the giggles with these tid-bits about me. As usual, there’s tons of inspiration and transformational wisdom with each point (if you go deep enough).

Top 6 Reasons People “Think” I’m Gay

1. I flirt with everyone.

I’ve discovered that flirting is about being playful, making the other person feel special and significant; appreciating and highlighting their beautiful qualities. From this context, why don’t we flirt with everyone?

2. I have trouble discerning gender sometimes.

This is because of my optical limitations in sight, and the diverse self-expression we have in our culture today with more men choosing to have long hair, wearing glitter, or anybody simply wishing to appear gender neutral.

3. I’m fashion conscious.

Compared to most men, that is. Not being able to see, I never really cared about fashion because I wasn’t conscious of it. I also thought of it as being superficial, so I chose not to put any attention on it. Then, when I was asking one of my super-friends how I could improve my dating life, he and his fashion-savvy girlfriend took me shopping and changed my life forever. :)

4. I love to dance and have a good time.

Many of my friends are gay, bisexual, or tons of other new-age terms I could probably come up with. I love hanging around these people because they usually are less judgmental and more free-spirited than most people. It’s fun to get along with people who are fun to get along with.

5. I’ve been known to attend cuddle parties and promote tantric classes

Yes, it’s true. But did you know the cuddle parties are more about effective communication than anything else? Most people in our culture don’t know how to say Yes, don’t know how to say No, and don’t know how to change their minds. A cuddle is a much-needed context in which we can practice these un-taught skills.

6. I’m flamboyantly optimistic.

Normally that kind of label would be seen as Pollyanna in our culture. I find the contrast of being called a fear-mongering conspiracy theorist to balance me out. It’s fascinating when we come to understand that everything is perspective, relative, and a choice.

Now, for the record, I am 100% heterosexual (not that there’s anything wrong with being anything else)...

The Kinsey sex experiments suggest that there is a spectrum between the two extremes (homosexuals/heterosexuals) that anyone may fall into. Ask yourself, where do you fall? (and in life)

Six Tricks to Good Conversations

Oh My Goddess! I just came up with this.

1. Ask questions. What kinds of questions do you ask? Could you ask more about people’s feelings and opinions, rather than just facts and information? (Interrupting with a question is also a gracious way to redirect a nonstop-talker.)

2. Be unique. Think of varying answers to typical questions like “How are you?” and “What do you do?” There’s a wide vocabulary you can choose from, and every job has more than one function.

My favorites over the years:
- I’m having the best day of my life!
- I’m better than I’ve ever been, but not as good as I’m going to be.
- I’m on top of the world.

You’ll start-off with great energy, the other person’s undivided attention, and a genuine desire to engage in the conversation.

3. Leave space. While it may feel awkward in our culture at first, allow for silence or the experience of just being with someone. Connection at a whole other level becomes possible.

4. Speak your thoughts. Allow yourself to be self-expressed without filtering or judgment. Most people will appreciate this, and if something embarrassing is said, most people will forget that.

5. Escape what you don’t enjoy. If the conversation isn’t great, gracefully exit. Some people need to learn that they need to improve their social skills, and politeness rarely helps.

6. Practice at an event (like our summer bash), and share this with your friends.

Our events are always different (innovative and creative), but there’s one common element that is our winning formula.

Our community has cool people, and so our parties are full of cool people.

Why? What’s so special about the people we know?

These are three qualities we have distinguished, which you can employ to better your experience at events.

1. Being Proactive.

This means that when you are at an event, you don’t just hang around the people you came with. You are proactive. You make the effort to approach people you do not know, or would like to know more. You start interesting conversations. And you take initiatives to laugh, play, and deepen relationships.

2. Being Open.

This means that when you are looking at someone, or talking to someone, that you do not prejudge who they are. You are open to their perspectives, their behaviors, and their lifestyle choices. You truly consider what the other person has to say, and you allow for a space which has them feel accepted.

3. Being Authentic.

This means that when you are sharing with someone, you don’t try to put up an image or hold status. You’re more than honest, you’re vulnerable. You take the time to express yourself completely, so that you can have substance to your connections.

Are you proactive? Are you open? Are you authentic?

The best way to be that way is to be around people who are that way.

That’s why people in our community are constantly asking me to host another party. Although I love hosting parties, they are a lot of work, and they cost money to produce.

But when you have friends who twist your arm (my friend Justin McMakin), then the mind comes up with a solution that works for everyone.

The woes of my life... (and yours?)

Hey there everyone!!

Some are impressed that I have over 300+ “freeloaders” in That Free Thing, putting me in the top 25 of the company for acquiring free members.

I feel that having a previous career in information technology has been my secret. It’s easy for me to create web sites and ad-hoc internet campaigns. No web masters or technical support calls are necessary. In fact, with all the money and time I save doing my own computer and web management (not to mention security, automation, analytics, etc.), I thought that I would be doing a lot better by now (after 10 years). :(

It’s becoming incredibly more challenging to communicate with people over e-mail with all the spam filters and information overload. That’s why we ask for people’s phone numbers in our campaigns. Most people require a personal conversation before they will put much effort in considering a opportunity through e-mail.

So, like most professionals today, I spend hours a day calling many people on my list. Because of my visual impairment, sometimes I misdial numbers. It happens often enough that I need to double-check every single number I dial (reading/pressing) to make sure I don’t miss anybody accidentally. This, of course, requires a lot more time for me.

When confirming information with people on the phone, sometimes I read the wrong column or row from my spreadsheet. You can imagine that this might confuse some people, and it therefore takes me longer to engage and enroll individuals.

Then, after hours of calling (lots of voice mails and phone tag), I start getting a headache and eye strain. I need to use my computer to read all the information, and I need to sit literally right up against it, almost touching my nose. All that heat and radiation does get to me, sometimes causing severe migraines.

Las week I had lunch with a friend who reminded me that I never complain about my life challenges. Complaining rarely helps, but I do share what’s so sometimes through my work (like this).

And, what else am I supposed to do? Sit on my couch doing nothing? Look for a job? LOL.

This is some of what I said, spontaneously, without any preparation...

Humanity is going to a place where we’re not so much about content as we are about context.

In the past people have been about policies, and procedures, and so rigid and about the letter of the law, as opposed to coming from a holistic place of understanding the circumstances and the nuances and the cultural contexts of every situation.

The biggest thing we can move into is understanding that we don’t have to be black and white--just because we listen to somebody or even understand where they are coming from doesn’t mean that we agree with it.

That’s another element of understanding this duality of our humanity... we live in a world of contradictions. One of my favorite quotes is that usually the opposite of a profound truth is another profound truth. So it’s not being attached to either truth as it is understanding which truth to apply in which context. And that’s the art of living.

Developing emotional resiliency skills helps us to deal with adversity. It also enables us to adapt to change and manage upsets, roadblocks and frustrations.

There is a lot of information about resiliency in general but very little about emotional resiliency and how to develop it. 5 Keys to Go Viral

We’re going viral, and this is how’re doing it.

If humanity is going to really transform, we need to have more than a shift in consciousness--we all need to learn things and do things that we may have never done before.

It’s easy though. It’s all about using the tools that control us as tools that actually awaken us. For example, let’s use technology to make something go super-viral...

Prerequisite: Worthy Content

The following keys won't work unless we have some viral-worthy content to share first. Viral-worthy is something that is extremely funny or surprising, or is cause/mission driven. For example, Press for Truth presents the feature-length movie, "Into The Fire": World leaders and activists from around the world gathered for the G20 Summit. With over 19,000 police officers and security personnel on hand, the results lead to over 1100 arrests, martial law in downtown Toronto, and the most massive violation of civil liberties in Canadian history.

Key #1: Distribution

Go to http://www.ordinarywords.com/intothefire and click each of the buttons; Facebook to post on your wall, E-mail to send to your friends, Twitter to tweet to your followers, StumbleUpon to recommend, or AddThis and select from hundreds of social networking and bookmarking tools. Taking the time to add a personal note always makes a big difference, too.

The idea is to do this in as many places as possible. If you have several social networking accounts, share it on ALL of them (if you don’t have any, get one). If censorship is happening on the Internet, then posting on multiple platforms allows our message to be distributed more broadly. Post regularly (usually only 10% of your reach will see any given post, so post once a day for 10 days in order to reach everyone).

Key #2: Substance

Go to http://youtu.be/zejD0UkMGGY and actually watch the entire movie. Then click “Like” to like the movie and click “Add to” to add it to your favorites and other playlists. Then, take the time add a comment, or read some comments and “Vote Up” or Reply. If you know how to, capture the video and re-post it on your own channels or other video sharing platforms like http://vimeo.com.

Key #3: Search

On every desktop you have access to, open up Google and type in “into the fire full”. Unless the censorship has intensified, the full movie should be first link. Click on that link and we will soon be tracked on Google Trends and get lots more exposure.

Key #4: Live Conversations, Multiple Impressions

Talk to people about this movie, even if you know they know about it or have seen it already. People see the same ads hundreds of times before they become conscious of that advertising. Similarly, we as a society need to be persistent in our conversations to cause lasting impact.

Key #5: Connected Content (Advanced)

Write your own reviews about this movie on your web sites or blogs (or a Facebook Note tagging your friends). Into The Fire Toronto G20 Movie

Hey there everyone!!

I was excited to attend the world theatrical premiere of “Into the Fire.” (Toronto is great for this sort of stuff!) I had no idea I was in it, I was going to support the community of activists who are raising consciousness by exposing the current corrupt structure of our world.

Three quarters into the movie, I hear a guy in the movie saying something that sounds very insightful. I’m thinking, “I like this guy.” Then the camera spans to the guy speaking, and I think “Is that guy an albino?” (As you can imagine, I can’t see the movie projection very well, and can’t recognize myself).

Then the audience of 500 claps at the statements made, and I realized, “Wait! That’s not an albino; that’s me!!”

I think this has to top my favorite surprises in life—To watch a movie, and in the middle of it, realize that I was a small part of it.

The Way is reflected in you as the source of your inspiration, the source of your passions, your wisdom, your enthusiasm, your intuition, your spiritual fire - love. The Way takes the chaos out of the Universe and breathes life into it by reflecting divine order. The Way, when experienced by the mind, is genius, when perceived through the eyes is beauty, when felt with the senses is grace, when allowed into the heart ... is love.

Most people cannot sense the Way directly. ... But then there are the Wayseers. The keepers of the flame. Wayseers have an unexplainable knack for just knowing the Way. They sense it in their very being. They can’t tell you why or how they arrived at the right answer. They just know it in their core. They can’t show their work. So don’t ask. Their minds simply resonate with the Way. When the Way is present, so are they.

While others are blind to it, and society begs you to ignore it, “the Way” stirs you inside. Neurological repression blocks most people’s awareness of the Way - censoring all thoughts and impulses from the unconscious is their prefrontal cortex - the gestapo of the brain - nothing which violates its socialized programming even gets through; but your mind is different. your mind has been cracked wide open to the Way - by some miraculous genetic trait, some psychotropic chemical or maybe even by the will of your very soul, your brain’s reward pathways have been hijacked - dopamine employed to overthrow the fascist dictatorship of your prefrontal cortex - now your brain is free of repression, your mind free of censorship, your awareness exposed to the turbulent seas of the unconscious - through this open doorway divine light shines into your consciousness showing you the Way. This is what makes you a Wayseer.

90% of human civilization is populated with those who’s brains are blocked to the Way. Their brains are hardwired to enforce the social programming indoctrinated since birth. Unlike you they cannot break out of this programming, because they have not yet experienced the necessary revolution of mind. These programmed people take social institutions and rules very seriously. Society is full of games programmed to keep peoples’ minds occupied so they will not revolt. These games often cause sick fixations on peculiar protocols, power structures, taboos and domination - all subtle forms of human bondage - This distinct form of madness is not only tolerated by the masses but insisted upon. The programmed ones believe in rules so forcefully they become willing to destroy anyone who violates them.

Wayseers are the ones who call their bluff. Since Wayseer minds are free to reject social programming, Wayseers readily see social institutions for what they are - imaginary games. Wayseers comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable. Helping those who are lost in these games and refuse to help themselves is a calling of many Wayseers. Since Wayseers are the ones who keep contact with the original source of reality - they are able to disrupt societal conventions and even governments to realign humanity with the Way.

The Wayseers are an ancient lineage. A kind of priesthood - carriers of the flame - ones "in the know." There must always be Wayseers to reform the dizzying psychotic spinning gears of society - giant mindless hamster wheels obscuring the pure blue sky, keeping humanity shackled in a darkened cage - so Wayseers are called - to shed light on the madness of society - to continually resurrect the timeless transcendent Spirit of Truth -

What does it mean to cross the line?

I saw speakers use manipulative psychology to get people to run to the back of the room with credit cards in their raised hands like hypnotized zombies.

Hey there everyone!!

Many people think that those visually impaired or blind have superior hearing. I think that’s a myth perpetuated by mainstream culture.

My hearing is weaker than average, and I failed all the hearing tone tests in grade nine music. :(

Some people think I’m a liar or a fake, because I am so independent, mobile, and make no excuses.

This is how I see...

1. Intelligence.

One of my friends asked me, “How do you always know when to stop right before we are about to bump into something?” I said, “Because every time I’m with you and you stop first, then I stop too, because I’m following you. You don’t realize that when I’m walking by myself, I do bump into things.”

Our eyes are optical instruments that identify vibrations. Our brain, interprets that optical information, and through experience and intelligence, allows us to understand our environment (90% of the work). So although my “optics” are limited, my “sight” is better than most of the people I meet (which is why they get surprised that I’m legally blind). The Hollywood movie, “At First Sight”, explains this phenomenal through a beautiful love story.

2. Memory.

People are often surprised when I know Toronto better than they do. This is my hood and I’ve lived here over 85% of my life. And then 90% of the places I need to go to, I’ve probably already been before. Especially since, when I was thirteen years old, I traveled to every subway stop in the city to memorize the exits and entrances.

When I go to another city, however, I feel totally debilitated. Even if I had been there several years ago, likely there have been new constructions and changes in their public transportation system. People sometimes think, “well, at least you can always take a cab” without realizing the visual abilities required to hail a cab, or even find a location appropriate for boarding a cab.

3. Luck.

I was visiting Karachi (Pakistan) a couple years ago and decided to go for a walk by myself. I walked very close (inches away) from what I thought was a puddle, without really thinking. Then, as I walked away, I realized it was a deep, open sewage gutter, and I could have easily fallen in! That would have been the worst experience of my life!

Through personal development, I learned that it is easy to improve my luck -- all I have to do is increase my activity. Most people don’t do things because of fear or lack of ability. I do them anyways. Most of the time, there are negative consequences. Sometimes angels protect me.

Then there’s also instinct, intuition, and faith... but I’ll leave those for another article.

Hi there lovers!!

On the one hand, some see Valentine’s Day as a commercial day for profiteering corporations and a superficial method for the masses to be self-expressed.

On the other hand, a mass consciousness of focused energy and attention on love, can significantly shift the human collective, and leveraging this temporal state of humanity can transform what wasn’t possible before.

It’s like people who turn-off mainstream media instead of transforming it. If the content is authentic and empowering (instead of propaganda and brainwashing), then it can be used to accelerate the awakening.

Analogously, don’t turn yourself away from Valentine’s Day. Transform it. Here are four videos that can help us do that:
