2013 anti-resolutions

Bookmark and Share
“This is your life, you made it this far” sings Bon Jovi.

Happy New Year!!!

So many people are often so focused on new year’s resolutions, that they don’t take the time to first reflect upon their achievements and highlights over the past year.

It’s easy to just gloss over memories in our mind.  I don’t remember everything I did, so I’m actually going to go through my newsletters to find out.  You can go through your photo albums, facebook timeline, or your agenda/journals to jog your memories.  You’ll be surprised at what you’ll find.

The year started with a bang, as I went on a cruise (for the first time ever) in the Bahamas and partied in Miami with my friend Dortmund as we tried a Turkish massage for the first time.

I released our first iPhone app in the App Store.

I created an update video for our Party for People with Special Needs, delivered speaking engagements/interviews, and worked with a new fundraising committee.

I started video logging for the first time, and participated in the Visalus’ 90-Day Challenge to transform my physical body.

I was video-taped for two different music videos, and our original song, “Let’s love the world together...” was just released on iTunes, with the lyrics video making its rounds on YouTube.

I’m sure there is stuff I’ve missed.  But the point is to make sure you don’t miss your stuff.  Enjoy your memories.

Let’s love the world together...

Hi there everyone!!

Ever wonder why we’re all together in one place
There’s got to be an answer to this crazy human race
Money fame and power leaves you thinking in the end
Wondering who’s an enemy and who’s a trusted friend

Let’s love the world together...
Like Angels do in Heaven
We can make a difference if we try
We can change the world you and I

You got love inside that you cannot seem to find
The greatest love of all will always give you peace of mind
Running from one lover back and forth under the cover
You might have the toys you want but always want another

Ever thought of people from another time and place
Just another mirror looking at another face
We all search for happiness and wanting to be loved
When we lose ourselves and find the other we are one

When you’re looking back on life and golden years have come
You’re either in the clouds of doom or shining like the sun
What you’ve done for others will be all yours in the end
If you heed the call of love and just become a friend

Let’s love the world together...
Like Angels do in Heaven
We can make a difference if we try
We can change the world you and I

Let’s love the world together...

P.S. DO NOT view this if you don’t like watching gross stuff.  It’s disgusting, but a hysterical 82 seconds of a visual depiction of our economic crisis.  I was bored and decided to record my own spit bubble, and serendipitously, listen to what was recorded in the background!!  It's the bubble economy.  It's the bubble of all bubbles.  And here it is.  http://youtu.be/fnvb6FABPMg  There are worst things on YouTube; some that have gone viral.  I don’t leave any stone unturned.

5 Reasons to Share

Bookmark and Share
Hey there everyone!!

As youngsters many of us are taught to share, but by the time we’re adults, most of us seldom do.  Here are five good reasons to always share whatever we can.

1. Validation

Sharing something vulnerable about ourselves has us become more conscious of who we are and our identity.  Sharing something we have keeps us in abundance, feeling gratitude for our blessings.  Sharing in an activity makes the activity more enjoyable and interactive.

2. Behavior Modification

As we share stories, art, or humor that is meaningful to us, we increasingly alter our actions to reinforce the values that we communicate.  If we share more about love, we will be more loving.  If we share more about success, we will eventually become more successful.

3. Co-Creation

When we share with others, and they share with us, we naturally uncover and understand more about other people, places, and concepts.  We tend to reciprocate data, ideas, and resources that are relevant and useful to individuals we subconsciously know it will benefit.  Social networks provide a modernized medium for co-creation which bypasses geopolitical and economic barriers.

4. Collaboration

In this digital age, as vast groups of people of similar interests and goals unite, so much more becomes possible.  Collaborative research, micro-loans, and crowd funding are new paradigms of creating global change in the world today.  And none of these paradigms would be effective if it wasn’t for individuals like you and me, “liking”, “commenting” and “sharing”.

5. Collective Consciousness

What’s possible when something goes super viral?  Gangnam Style.  No longer do we need to rely on multi-million, multi-national, geopolitical entities to shift mass culture.  It’s in our hands now.

Practice the +1.  Post on your wall.  Share this message.

Let’s love the world together...
