Are you a “Stranger Talker”?

Bookmark and Share
Hey there everyone!!

I’m sitting on the subway across from a beautiful woman... I want to strike up a conversation, but my fears get the best of me. Then, this beautiful woman starts up a conversation with another person on the subway who is also a stranger to her (I eavesdropped on their conversation). Now I knew that she was, at least, a person open to having conversations with strangers (a "stranger talker"). Since she was a stranger talker, I knew I didn't have any excuse to remain silent.

Their conversation ended, and I started calming my nerves to initiate something with this woman. Noticing she was reading a book, I said: "Do you use bookmarks?" She replied "Yes!" with astonishment and added "but I don't have any with me today." Thanking God that I was an author who carried my own bookmarks, I presented her with one of mine and said "Here you go." Suddenly, we arrived at my subway station and I had to quickly depart the train!

Did you ever wish that you had started a conversation with a stranger, only to procrastinate and miss your opportunity? Have you ever had an interesting conversation with a stranger? Were you ever surprised to notice how well a conversation with a stranger was going? Deep down inside, do you have a hidden passion to be more of a stranger talker?

It can be a lot easier to start up a conversation during the festive season. We can talk about holiday shopping, visiting families or attending parties. How about the simple question, "Are you doing anything special over the holidays?" Or, we can even discuss how this season has become popularized to a point where every company and every newsletter has got to mention something about it! :)

In the true spirit of the holidays, haven't you noticed that people tend to be more cheerful and radiant? We can say hello to a stranger and not worry about being ignored or rejected. So, let this season be your reason for love in your life. Be a stranger talker. Take the initiative to be with strangers, to make a connection, and to experience more love.

Hey there everyone!!

Our most recent song, “The Beat Goes On” was played this past Friday an event called “The Move” where a hundred people danced to it!  From understanding viral, videos need to be really short, and so I created a shortened version for you here.  Check it out and pass it on.

Worrying about the rent and food?

Bookmark and Share
Hey there everybody!!

Last night one of my friends was relating the difficulties of their life.  When I shared some of my difficulties, the response I heard (which I hear many times), is “But you don’t understand; you don’t have to worry about your rent or your food.”

I don’t have to worry about my rent or my food.  From that perspective, I do have the best life in the world.  But how I “see” it is (sometimes) is that most other people can strive (work harder, learn more) to pay for their rent and their food.  No matter how much harder I work or how much more I learn, the chance of me being able to drive a car (just as one example) is next to impossible.

Some people dismiss that one example as a small incidental of life, and even debate how it is not an essential aspect of our culture.  So let me illustrate two huge examples from my life off the top of my head:

Many careers require the ability to drive, directly, indirectly, or though their office geography.  When I was 18, I (almost) had the opportunity to work with superstars like Anthony Robbins, promoting them on stage before they came into town.  But wait!  That meant being flown down to the cities across North America (easy), and renting a car to setup all the venues (impossible).  Yes, I had conversations with them about taking taxi cabs instead (difficult).  You do the math.

When I was 24, I met a wonderful woman at a speaking engagement and there was mutual attraction.  She lived two hours away from me by car, and there literally was no public transit to her small town.  We had lots of electronic communication, but it was so frustrating not to be able to be with her.  Finally, I convinced one of my friends to drive me up, sit and wait in a café for three hours while I hung out with her, and then drive me back (amazing friend).  It was an awesome day --but it could have been an awesome short-term or long-term relationship.

I notice that some people try to find holes in my examples, asking, why I don’t try this, why I didn’t say that, or how I should be more positive.  That process of thinking-out-side-the-box that people do for two minutes, I have been doing 24 hours a day for my entire life.  I’ve tried all those things, that’s why I am successful, and don’t need to worry about my rent or my food.

When I had learned how integral real-estate was in creating wealth at an early age, I made conscious efforts to move out of subsidized housing and put the majority of my savings into buying a house for our family.  It was great that I was making tons of money from my business, and reinvesting it into paying off the mortgage as quickly as possible.  I thought that foresight and discipline would have built a better image of me, not have people feel that I somehow have it easy by not worrying about rent today.

I love food.  And I do think about it every two hours, like many people do.  When I’m outside anywhere I’m not familiar with (new places), I do need to worry about it because unlike most people, I can’t see any of the big signs.  Even when I do find a restaurant (which may or may not be my taste/preference) I may not be able to read the menu.  Most fast food places do not even offer paper menus, nor have their items listed on their web site (even with me making YouTube videos about it).  So, while I may not worry about food in the same way some people do, I feel my choices of food are extremely limited most of the time.  I won’t even go into buffets or potlucks.  ;)

And before people reply telling me about the cool new Google Car, of course I have heard of it.  And from my understanding of government regulations, politics, business, and technology, we are at least ten years away from me being able to drive one.  But then again, everything can change on December 21, right?  (Or is it 22?)

The bottom line is that we all have different challenges in life.  We got to remember that our challenges are not the most difficult, and that everybody has challenges in their lives that are unfair, extreme, overwhelming, and sometimes even unconscionable to us.

Beat Goes On Music Video & Lyrics

Bookmark and Share
Hey there everyone!!

The inspiring entertainment genre is growing, and I’m proud to know some of my friends are producing some of the greatest awakening hits!

My good friend, Tarek Bibi, has just released his newest music video, “The Beat Goes On” and I am part of the cast.  I am honored to be opening the song with a paraphrased quote from Eric Hoffer, and performing my little cameo at the end.  It’s the modern way to wake people up.

Read the lyrics below, or watch the music video by pressing Play:
Beat goes on:

Danish Ahmed: The learners shall inherit the earth while the learned will be beautifully equipped to live in a world that no longer exists!

Verse 1:

Evolution of the revolution
What's the solution
What the problem
One things for sure
We can’t wait for someone else to solve them
We held you up
Now we throwing u back down
So back down
We taking it back now
You don’t need to do anything
Just be mentally
And you could see that
We are all the same
But little do we know we've been all turned to slaves
It starts when were dumb
Then bit by bit they take our freedom
But that OK cause from today that’s all going to change
From the parents to the kids
From the poor to the rich
From living wars to living bliss

Chorus: Niko

And the beat goes on
You could try to slow us down but the beat goes on
Ya we all shine on
Everybody come on
Come one come all

Verse 2

How it’s supposed to be
Cause taking from you is really taking from me see
And we hardly listen
Listen kid here’s a pot for you to piss in
How long can we deny
How long can we keep on living this lie and
It starts with you and me
And like your inner light the truth will set you free
I put a stone you put a stone
I put a stick you put a stick
I put a brick you put a brick
And that’s how we build this shit
Let’s build this bridge on top of 666
For the kids to come
And let’s finish this before the kingdom comes
And lets microwave our brains might as well because the radiation is doing the same
Were so insane!

Chorus: Niko

And the beat goes on
You could try to slow us down but the beat goes on
Ya we all shine on
Everyone come on
Come one come all

Verse 3

And it’s always been this way
How can we begin to innovate when we think this way?
So close your eyes and wink
Have fun with it
Cause you are what you think
And you could do this too
A few months ago I was just like you
But still they keep on trying
Watch them disappear ounce we form an alliance
I heard the wars going on
But I’m not surprised we got wars of our own
At our schools at our homes
Somewhere deep in our minds were we lost all control
In the minds of our foes
Man all our politicians are really just clones
But we sit back and watch
It’s nice to see our politicians talk allot

Chorus: Niko

And the beat goes on
You could try to slow us down but the beat goes on
Ya we all shine on
Everyone come on
Come one come all

Verse 4

Keep it down man I’m missing the best part
Let the idiot watch his little idiot box
Imagine we all unplugged
Will our lives be the same with less hate and more love?
Why don’t we call their bluff?
All this intimidation to show their tough
But were not all scared and when the time comes
We'll be more then prepared
That’s why we are all to blame
Justifying hate when were all the same
Fighting for spice on a sand dune
Now that’s bad news
The evil minds our just a handful
So just tighten your grips
Put up your fists and scream we're loving it
Every second every bit
Every single piece of shit
Every time we throw a fit
Every ache
Every pain
Every snake every fake
Every hate every mistake we change we awake!

Chorus:

And the beat goes on
You could try to slow us down but the beat goes on
Ya we all shine on
Everyone come on
Come one come all

News about Our Political Party!

Bookmark and Share
Hey there everyone!!

Some of you may or may not know that I am actually the leader of a political party.  It’s been operating since 2007, and it is all about helping people with disabilities.

When we help people with disabilities, we are helping everybody.

Watch our video status update at the link below, or read the transcript below.  You know people through your social networks who would find value in this message, as this message benefits us all.

A disability can happen to anyone, at any time in their lives.  More than 15% of Canadians have a disability – including disabilities we cannot see.  We have a social services system that tries to do its best but many of the people who need services cannot get access to them.

Here’s the good news: When we help people with disabilities, we are helping everybody.

Welcome.  My name is Danish Ahmed, and I am the Leader of the Party for People with Special Needs.  Over the last five years we have worked hard to make a difference for families affected by family members with disabilities.  We ran in the last two provincial elections, raising awareness by highlighting relevant issues and pointing to solutions that empower everyone in our society.

For example, many people with disabilities are unable to complete their tax returns and get their government benefits, like the HST refund.  We have been providing FREE tax return services to ensure that everyone receives all the disability benefits and tax credits they are entitled to.  We can do your income tax too, free of charge!

By showing people how they can revise their taxes we have helped families like yours receive over $2.4 million dollars in refunds they would otherwise not have received.  Canada's Registered Disability Savings Program is a good news story.  This very generous federal program was a result of 5 years of lobbying government by our party members.

Unfortunately, this program is set up in a way that prevents many people with disabilities from being accepted into the program.  There is too much bureaucracy and too much paperwork just to make a simple RDSP deposit.  We have worked with major banks to help them breakthrough barriers so more Canadians can access the benefits of the RDSP.

We have raised accessibility standards in the government, supported the tenants of social housing, and continue to provide invaluable feedback for issues around transportation, health-care and education.

We have and continue to run our candidates in the provincial elections.  By doing so we create pressure on the major parties to listen to issues that are important to people with disabilities and seniors.  By raising issues, our ideas get heard, and sometimes implemented by other parties.

We are committed to making a difference for all families affected by family members with disabilities.  Our solutions benefit all of society.  We are removing barriers and empowering all Canadians to create the best opportunities they can for their lives.

We are the Party for People with Special Needs.  When we help people with disabilities, we are helping everybody.  Support our party.
